Nicole Barrett
Nicole Barrett began playing the clarinet at the age of 12 under the tutelage of Albin Berky, and in 2000 completed 3 Unit Music at St Andrew's Cathedral School, She has won several eisteddfods and competitions such as the open age clarinet section of Sydney Performing Arts Challenge (1998) and in 2000 was a finalist in the Ku-ring-gai Philharmonic Concerto Competition. Nicole has recently received a full music scholarship to study a Bachelor of Music at the international Conservatorium of Music in 2001. The set design Nicole submitted for HSC Drama has also been selected as part of the OnSTAGE exhibition. She is joined tonight by Daniel Smith (flute) and Victoria Salomatina (piano). This trio recently recorded Tarantella for ABC Classic FM.
