Lauren Sleap
Lauren Sleap studied 3 Unit Music at Caringbah High School. Music and the study of voice have been a constant focus since childhood for Lauren. Developing a passionate drive for an operatic career, she travelled with the Olympic Arts Showcase to America and has been performing with the NSW Department of Education Performing Arts Unit as a soloist in events such as the Schools Spectacular and the Opera House Choral Concerts. She was a member of the NSW Public Schools Singers and toured the USA with them in 1999. Lauren also worked with Opera Australia in 1996 and 1997. Recently Lauren won the Sony Foundation Music Scholarship. In 2001 she will attend the University of New South Wales to study a Bachelor of Music/Bachelor of Arts degree. She is accompanied tonight by Martin Perlicka (leader) and cellists including Guy Moloney, Emily Duffil, Danny Morris, Rohan de Korte and Cathy Tabrett.
