James Polack
North Sydney Boys High School
James has played the trumpet since he was eight and has always loved music. He has attained AMEB Grade 8 and recently gained a place in the Australian Youth Orchestra for 2005. Throughout High School, he played in the school Big Band and in January of last year, toured the USA and the Bahamas, performing at the International Association for Jazz Education Conference in New York. Highlights of the trip included workshops with jazz greats such as Bobby Shew and John Clayton. James plans to study at the Sydney Conservatorium and hopes to travel to Europe to further his training in orchestral and solo playing. He is accompanied by Bruce Hellmers (piccolo trumpet) and John Martin (piano).
